The Regis College Information Technology Services department invites applications for an Enterprise Data Manager. This position rewards an individual with Ellucian Colleague and reporting tool expertise the ability to oversee the college's various data systems and organize, store and analyze data in the most efficient and effective ways to adhere to agreed-up security and quality standards.

The Enterprise Data Manager will ensure that data is stored, managed, analyzed and used correctly and strategically across all university departments. This individual will need to create and enforce data policies that are accurate and effective, and assist colleagues with day-to-day data retrieval activities to ensure the consistency and accuracy of reporting and reduce the risk of data loss. A successful candidate will be a true team player with an unparalleled ability to govern data collection and usage, as well as utilize various analytical software tools to produce the desired results.

Essential Job Functions: *

  • Create and revise data management policies through an exhaustive understanding of the university's existing enterprise data system.

  • Establish new rules and procedures so information can be shared with executives, staff, faculty and students securely and responsibly.

  • Develop a culture of data informed decision making across the university involving the systematic practice of data collection, analysis and reporting within both non-academic and academic organizational units.

  • Produce and deliver data, metrics, dashboards and reports on institutional issues.

  • Assist Colleagues with everyday data-related tasks and/or the retrieval of special reports or data sets, including, but not limited to, regularly scheduled federal or regulatory reporting and grant development (e.g., IPEDS).

  • Maintain accountability and responsibility for the accuracy of shared and stored data, as well as the activities necessary to reduce or eliminate the risk of data loss and breach.

  • Collaborate with fellow staff members and faculty to identify any data problems that may arise and develop potential solutions.

  • Collaborate with other campus representatives on the design, implementation, and analysis of campus surveys and disseminate findings in a format that facilitates the use and understanding of the resulting survey data.

  • Identify, quantify and propose new initiatives that are in direct support of and alignment with the institution's strategic plan.

  • Complete any other tasks as assigned by the CIS Application Manager.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, data analytics or information technology-applicable field desired; graduate degree a plus.

  • Significant experience with student information systems, preferably Ellucian's Colleague and modern reporting tools (e.g., SSRS).

  • Strong working knowledge of recent versions of the Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Sharepoint.

  • A minimum of five years working with and understanding application databases, developing database queries, and analyzing and interpreting data.

  • Demonstrated exceptional time-management skills and an ability to commit to and meet deadlines.

  • Proven detail-oriented behaviors with a knack for analytical thinking.

  • Demonstrated success in problem solving, interpersonal communication, decision-making and organization.

  • Ability to communicate both business and technology-related information in oral, written and graphic form to individuals with varying backgrounds.

  • Experience working successfully in a team and managing multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.

  • Strict adherence to confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of the higher education environment, its business processes, data needs and reporting requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.

  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
