Founded in 1889, The Wheeler School is a co-educational independent day school with over 800 students from Nursery through Grade Twelve in Providence, Rhode Island. The Advancement office, in which this position is critical, consists of an eleven member team dedicated to serving the school in the areas of development, marketing and communications, alumni relations, parent relations, gift processing, advancement services and event management.

This 12 month full-time position is directly responsible for the comprehensive management of the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), gift processing, receipts & acknowledgements, gift & pledge documentation, and gift reporting.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Manage the operation, maintenance, data input, data integrity and accuracy of The Raiser’s Edge constituent database management system.
Maintain accurate constituent records in Raiser’s Edge, including the maintenance of demographic information, the batch coding of gift records, and maintenance of proper gift documentation – in either electronic or (where necessary) secure paper form.
Process all gifts and generate gift acknowledgement letters, receipts and pledge reminders in a timely manner.
Oversee the matching gifts program.
Oversee the pledge payment process as well as the periodic review and write-off of uncollected pledges.
Manage and coordinate monthly reconciliation of financial activity with the Business office, and comply with all internal and external and audit requests.
Manage coding of appeals and solicitations.
Manage the creation of donor reports, particularly as required for prospect managent and stewardship purposes.
Assist with event activities, particularly regarding processing of offline and online gift transactions at or subsequent to fundraising events.
 

 

Abilities, knowledge and skills required:

 

Bachelor’s degree
Requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, advancement related preferred.
A high level of computer literacy, experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to multi task under pressure.
