Mayfield Junior School is seeking an experienced technology support professional with a passion for education and working with faculty and students. The Help Desk Support Specialist is a member of the Institutional Technology department and reports to the Director of IT. The primary responsibility of the position is to maintain our school-owned fleet of approximately 170 laptops and desktops, provide technical support to about 100 faculty and staff, and support audio-video set ups for school events.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Administer the campus help desk system to provide daily technical support to faculty and staff
  • Prepare, deploy and maintain Apple iMacs and MacBook Airs in computer labs and carts
  • Provide front-line support of Apple and Windows desktops and laptops to faculty and staff
  • Resolve technical support requests from faculty and staff
  • Create and manage all enterprise system accounts for faculty, staff and students
  • Deploy and maintain faculty and staff hardware and software
  • Research applications and needs for updates, changes, and faculty and staff requests
  • Manage the department’s event set up schedule
  • Maintain all common area (gym, performing arts center) video and audio systems
  • Provide occasional training with students, staff, and parents
  • Work closely with other IT staff to ensure school technology systems are operating effectively
  • Work with IT staff to install and maintain in-classroom video and audio systems, including AppleTVs
  • Provide front-line support of network copiers and printers
  • Assist with modifying and updating technical documentation, training documents, and reference guides
  • Work with Performing Arts Department to schedule use of common area equipment
  • Research and evaluate new technologies
  • Work with IT staff on event set-ups, hardware maintenance, software updates, and other tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of Mac OS and general knowledge of Windows
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to establish rapport with faculty and students with varying technical levels
  • Experience with audio boards, microphones and video cameras
  • Able to provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • Adept at working both independently and with a team
  • Ability to work accurately under deadline pressure multi-task various projects
  • Experience with DeployStudio, Munki, and Reposado a plus
  • Experience working at a school a plus
  • Apple certification a plus
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
