Job Title:                     Helpdesk / Technology Assistant

Reports To:                 Chief Financial Officer

The Helpdesk / Technology Assistant, under the support and direction of the Media, Website, and Database Administrator, assists all constituencies with regards to the operation and utilization of technology and electronic equipment (e.g. copy machines) and provides support to the Technology Department. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helpdesk and desktop support, supporting users at all levels (teachers, students, staff)

  • Managing, monitoring, and clearing helpdesk requests utilizing Ticketing system (OSticket)

  • In-Depth application support with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, Remote Desktop Management, DNS, DHCP, Network protocol, and Licensing

  • Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive) administration/troubleshooting

  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite and Google Suite for Education

  • Printer/copier configuration, troubleshooting

  • Imaging and deployment of images to new or refreshed computers

  • Assist with inventory of technology and electronic equipment

  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of technology and electronic equipment for teaching and presentation purposes

  • Assist with set-up and troubleshooting of emerging technologies (3D printers, laser cutters, AR/VR, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and Head of School

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional customer service orientation

  • Strong communication skills with users of all ages/skill levels/etc. (main user base is teachers and students who may not have any technical knowledge) 

  • Ability to think out of the box, troubleshoot, and resolve/know when to escalate

  • Ability to multitask 

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Able to work calmly in urgent situations

  • Highly self-motivated and directed

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Knowledge of PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPad, Windows 7/10, OS X, SMART Technologies

Normal hours for the position are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, FSA, retirement plan, and paid vacation (for 12-month employees). Competitive salary based on experience.
