Branksome Hall is seeking a Help Desk Technician with strong communication skills and a proven ability to provide courteous, rapid and effective hardware and software support to technology users. The successful candidate will join the ITteam and report into the Help Desk Supervisor.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide onsite and telephone support for software and hardware technical issues;
  • Repair software and hardware faults (infected and locked computers, printer jams, wireless issues);
  • Lift and move computers, printers, peripherals, and audio/video equipment (up to 40 lbs.);
  • Provide support to other members of the IT Department;
  • Assist with school events (manage audio/video and multimedia equipment);
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of network devices (access points, switches, routers);
  • Image staff and student computers;
  • Manage systems and accounts in Active Directory, including WSUS updates and Kaspersky antivirus;
  • Manage Exchange mailboxes and calendars, and troubleshoot related end-user issues in Outlook.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and 2 years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
  • Experience with Windows 8, 10, Windows Server, MacOS, and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Firewall, WSUS;
  • Troubleshoot technical problems;
  • Ability to take initiative;
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment and asset;
  • Proven team player;
  • Proven customer service skills;
  • A+ Certification an asset;
  • Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language;
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Strong customer service orientation;
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Willingness to learn evolving technologies to meet evolving school needs.
