The Opportunity:
Branksome Hall is seeking a Help Desk Technician with strong communication skills and a proven ability to provide courteous, rapid and effective hardware and software support to technology users. The successful candidate will join the IT team and report into the Help Desk Supervisor.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Member of the Help Desk team, providing support across the campus related to both software and hardware issues over the phone and onsite;

  • Assist with the inventory, maintenance and warranty of computer peripherals and drivers associated with them (i.e. scanners, digital cameras, camcorders, LCD projectors, etc.);

  • Repair simple hardware faults (locked computers, printer jams, wireless issues);

  • Move computers, peripherals and audio/video equipment as required;

  • Provide back-up support to other members of the IT department;

  • Assist with setup and manage audio/video and multimedia equipment for school events;

  • Assist with setup and configure network devices (access points, switches, routers);

  • Imaging of computers and updating software;

  • Assist with managing systems and accounts in Active Director including WSUS updates and Antivirus software.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science; recent graduates or students welcome;

  • Experience with Windows 8, 10, Windows Server, MacOS, and Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Active Director, DHCP, DNS, Firewall, WSUS;

  • Experience troubleshooting technical problems;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to take initiative;

  • Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and service orientation;

  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language;

  • Keen attention to detail;

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;

  • Willingness to learn evolving technologies to meet evolving school needs;

  • Knowledge of A/V equipment an asset;

  • A+ Certification an asset.
