Our teachers and skilled group of staff provide a rigorous curricular experience that embraces inquiry-based instructional strategies. We are seeking highly collaborative people who are passionate about technology and who actively seek the opportunity for exciting projects and deep connections to learning. All those who are excited about making a difference in the lives of young women are encouraged to apply for the following position for the 2019-20 academic year:

Idea Lab Technician (Design Technology)
One-Year Appointment (with possibility of renewal)

At BSS we provide an opportunity for our students to explore, design and build in a state of the art Idea Lab, with access to 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, microelectronics, power tools, hand tools, digital fabric printing, sewing machines and more. The mandate of our technology program is to provide students and teachers with the tools, materials, training and expertise to translate innovative ideas into reality. As the Idea Lab Technician you will support teachers from all areas of the school as their students design and create products using technology. You will work closely with our design technology teachers to maintain and install new technology, provide training to teachers and students, help maintain a safe and functional lab space and use a variety of advanced tools to support student projects.

You have experience using and maintaining traditional and rapid-prototyping tools, have knowledge and experience in maintaining safe workshop practices, and you’re excited by the opportunity to support innovative teaching and learning using design technologies. Ideally, you have skills in the areas of 2D design and 3D CAD software, 3D printing, laser cutting, machining, electronics, the use of hand tools and textiles. As we aim to remain on the cutting edge of design and technology, you will also be excited by the opportunity to learn how to operate new tools, and experiment with processes to find new ways to support the creation of beautiful, efficient and innovative student work.

You enjoy tinkering and exploring different ways of making objects. You see connections between materials and processes and recognize that good outcomes come from experimentation and multiple iterations. You are organized, flexible, and collaborative.

BSS is a learning environment for everyone and only those inspired by the opportunity to participate and contribute to that environment will be considered.
