We are seeking an Information Systems Coordinator to join our Computer Services team. This is a Full Time Permanent position starting immediately.

The Information Systems Coordinator’s key purpose is to maintain and enhance school’s information and IT systems for the staff, faculty, and students of the school. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology.

Responsibilities

Systems Management:

  • Manage and maintain hosted services and systems including G Suite, Paper Cut, DUO Security, Meraki MDM, Cisco Unified Communications Manager and others

  • Monitor, respond and escalate incidents in Trend Micro Apex One

  • Provide management for the implementation and maintenance of the School Information System, Veracross, and support and advise for other academic systems across the schools

  • Liaise with manufacturers and vendors on hosted system outages and upgrades.

  • Along with Network Administrator maintain backup of server and data and test the integrity of backups, and implementing disaster recovery solutions

  • Creates and maintains up to date written documentation on systems, configurations, protocols

  • Assists in software releases and roll-outs according to Change Management best practices

  • Training:

  • Develop and deliver support staff training with collaboration with HR department.

  • Deliver academic staff training at Orientation and other times of year when required (new features, report card entry time, etc.).

  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols/instructions and guidance to IT staff and to end-users (these are in the form of training videos, blog posts, and knowledgebase articles regarding academic systems).

Data:

  • Make data queries, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity in applicable systems

  • Inform appropriate data owners with recommendations to solve data integrity issues

General:

  • Respond promptly and courteously to support requests

  • Provide support to primary helpdesk for troubleshooting complicated issues, and during peak periods.

  • Researching and leading new technologies and software that may improve service delivery and functionality to the school

  • Stays abreast of new developments in technology by accessing job-specific training, participating in online educational communities, reading current technology literature, and testing software.

  • Assist in strategic planning by providing technical background and expertise

  • Participates in IT team projects

  • Lead and manage applicable system implementation projects

  • Flexibility in handling unanticipated tasks and possibly ambiguous situations

  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in IT/Computer Science or related field with 4 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience

  • Experience in supporting and maintaining School Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, CRMs, and other Web-based information systems and system integrations

  • Experience managing Veracross school information system would be an asset

  • Extensive experience with management of G Suite for Education

  • 2-4 years of database management experience, preferably working in an educational environment

  • A good understating of data management and data quality assurance

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot systems hardware and software

  • Knowledge and experience in systems backup and retention including industry leading software and practices

  • Must be able to work as a team player and independently, providing multifunctional support in an accurate and timely manner

  • Requires independent judgment pertaining to system design and installation recommendations, requiring creativity and resourcefulness to provide services

  • Supports changes in processes/procedures to improve work conditions as well as work flow

  • Highly developed communication skills and exceptional customer service skills required in dealing with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders

  • Expected to resolve unexpected technical problems that arise in tight timelines

  • Requires excellent organizational abilities to prioritize needs and provide timely service, in a fast-paced environment
