Kent Denver is looking for an Information Systems Manager to join our Information Services Team. The successful candidate will have a strong record in data management, preferably in an academic setting, an ability to proactively solve problems and streamline processes, and a belief in the central importance of diversity and inclusion in the life of the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Information Systems Manager is responsible for the management of all school-wide data systems. In this role s/he:

  • Collaborates and consults with departments to design, develop, implement, and support information systems and applications.
  • Manage and facilitate data integration for system migrations.
  • Lead and ensure the accurate and ethical management of all constituent information.
    • Maintain and monitors security of data, including managing database application access and privileges as well as implementing and enforcing data security policies.
    • Conduct audit processes and control data integrity across all databases, including the development of measures to ensure integrity.
    • Models best practices in data management: imports, exports, updates and organizes clean data.
  • Analyze, create, run and/or modify a variety of reports and queries.
  • Provide data oriented support and training on systems, procedures, best practices, reporting, and data analysis to all departments and end users.
  • Lead and own systems managed by the Information Services team, some of which include:
    • Blackbaud SIS, Canvas, Zoom, Calendly, EvaluationKit and EZProxy.
  • Provide Level II support for Kent Denver information systems, some of which include:
  • Raiser’s Edge and associated modules (Connect RE, ResearchPoint, BBMS) in partnership with Development.
  • Financial Edge, Smart Aid, Smart Tuition in partnership with Business Office.
  • Finalsite (including integration to Blackbaud) in partnership with Communications. 
  • School Admin (including integration to Blackbaud) in partnership with Admissions.
  • tSheets & Safeschools in partnership with HR.
  • Blackboard Emergency Services System.
  • Maia Learning in partnership with College Counseling.
  • Gmail, Freshdesk, S2 Netbox and Active Directory in partnership with Technology Services.
  • Manage annual cycles of enrollment and graduation, as well as onboarding and separation of employees.
  • Develop, update, and maintain data entry policies & procedure manual for all databases and work recommend updates and improvements.
  • Assists in the customization of information systems throughout the school.
  • Develop customized reports needed for operations.
  • Develop customized scripts to improve the integration of databases.
  • Advise staff and administrators in best practices for database interaction.
  • Manage and secure long term data storage strategies for archival and retrieval tasks.

 

As the Information Systems Manager, this person will also support, facilitate, and lead other relevant projects as a member of the Information Services team. This includes participating in the course registration and scheduling process, student and faculty technology training, data research projects, and performing other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency and experience in data systems, preference given to experience in those listed in the responsibilities section above.

Employment 

  • Supervisor: Chief Information and Innovation Officer
  • 40-50 hours per week
  • Salary range: $65,000-$75,000.
  • Benefits include health, retirement, and dental.
  • 4 weeks paid vacation with 1 additional week vacation over spring break and 1 additional week vacation over winter break.
