DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in education, data management, or evaluation is preferred.

MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Stellar organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Desire to work with K-12 high school or middle school students, with an emphasis on facilitating success in postsecondary admissions for students of color and low-income students.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in developing and maintaining effective partnerships that support an educational program's mission and goals.

  • Successful experience coordinating projects with teams of professionals.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skill including strong oral and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commitment to quality service and results.

  • A research background is highly desirable.

  • Successful work experience with K-12 high school or middle school students, especially students of color and low-income students.

  • Strong computer skills (intermediate or advanced database skills).

  • Interest in supporting connections between the UW-Madison campus and K-12 schools.

POSITION SUMMARY:

DoIT Academic Technology (AT) consists of over 90 professionals who design, develop and evaluate technology-enhanced learning experiences for today's learners. The UW-Madison DoIT Information Technology Academy (ITA) (www.ita.wisc.edu) is an innovative pre-college program serving diverse students in the state of Wisconsin. Serving 120 students in Madison, and 45 in both Lac du Flambeau and Oneida in alignment with the UW-Madison's Inclusive Excellence diversity initiative, ITA's mission is to increase enrollment, retention and matriculation rates of diverse students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as to diversify Wisconsin's IT workforce. 

During the academic year (September-May), ITA Madison meets on campus two Saturdays per month, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The professional in this 12-month position will be required to work all ITA Madison Saturday sessions as well as a two-week summer program on the UW-Madison campus in early August. The ITA Assistant Director, Service Leader will also work collaboratively with the ITA Tribal Sites Program Manager to ensure alignment of programming and student opportunities. This will occur with the support and involvement of the ITA Executive Director & Assistant Director of DoIT Academic Technology - IT Pre-College Outreach.
