Position Summary

Maintains information technology strategies by managing appropriate applications and technologies in the most cost effective and efficient manner. The IT Manager plans and implements additions, deletions, and major modifications to the supporting network infrastructure school-wide in coordination with the school’s strategic goals. The IT Manager is also responsible for all aspects of planning, developing, implementing and managing application software initiatives across all areas of the school, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.

The Technology Manager fulfills the following roles: Technology Maintenance/Repair, Network Administrator, Information Specialist, Database Management, and Instructional Consultant to all staff. This includes purchase, installation, trouble-shooting, and repair of all systems. This position is also responsible for the security of all network systems and keeping the data safe and confidential as well as the building security and alarm systems. Maintaining the school’s phone system and updated is also required.

Essential responsibilities:

Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Coordinates resources and timetables with other administrative departments and educational programs.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Maintain permissions and security for systems.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains and monitors technology and facility security.
Maintain networks in Windows & Mac/iPad environments; perform routine server maintenance.
Maintain inventory of hardware and software and record location and removal of same.
Monitor computers for unapproved or illegal software. Work with domain networks, hard drive cloning and virus protection/removal.
Work with remote systems, wireless internet systems, instructional software, on-line backup setup and maintenance.
Install/move computers, projectors, smart boards, other equipment and peripherals, troubleshoot same in timely manner. Install hardware software, network wiring, configure and troubleshoot equipment with a priority for classrooms.
Assist students with laptop & iPad maintenance, apps, and questions; participate in technical education for staff and students.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Qualifications:

BA or equivalent and a minimum 3 years’ broad experience in networking, data storage, device management and security systems is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full time, exempt position that is not eligible for overtime compensation. Work hours are generally 8:00-4:30, but that may require additional hours during busy times of the year, to complete time-sensitive work.

Compensation and Benefits: Depending upon experience, salary may be up to $50,000 annually. In addition, Abiqua Academy provides a rich benefits package with employee paid dental, medical and vision insurance and a generous amount of paid leave for vacation and sick leave.
