Facilities and Property Management (FPM) serves all members of the Portland State University (PSU) community. FPM takes a tremendous amount of pride providing an appealing campus environment in a professional and friendly fashion. The facilities and grounds at PSUconsist of over 5 million square feet of facilities and approximately 50 acres of grounds and are the university’s largest asset. FPM is charged with the stewardship of this asset which contributes to attracting and retaining students, faculty, and staff. The department staff works together as a dedicated team to create and maintain a superior and vibrant urban campus learning environment.

Position Summary

This Information Technology Consultant position serves as a member of the Facilities & Property Management (FPM) IT team supporting AiM, the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) used at Portland State University.

The position develops FPM web-service components, javascript action codes, FPM cell phone management and reports (JAMF); the position also assists in providing training and technical support for AiM.

Minimum Qualifications from Classification 

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of technology and information systems generally obtained through an AA degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified course work in applicable fields of study and at least one year of related work experience.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CMMS systems in higher education facilities management.

  • Experience with MS SQLServer.

  • Experience with open source report writing software such as BIRT.

  • Experience with web-service technologies such as Java, SOAP, REST

  • Experience writing Javascript

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Commitment to exceptional customer service

Work Days/Hours Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

The starting salary rate for this position will be between $18.25 and $25.50 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
