QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience with SIRS (Student Information Data Base). Experience in information processing activities is required and must include both supervisory and project management experience. Prior experience is highly desirable. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Processing preferred.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The IT Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department including the development, maintenance and control of computer hardware and software; the care and safekeeping of district information stored on computer devices; and the training of school personnel. Provide accurate and timely information to school personnel as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and implement the activities and network security of the IT Department
  • Coordinate the use of information processing resources with other departments to provide optimum use of computer equipment and services. Maintain all security and software updates.
  • Develop training and performance opportunities for the staff that will attain the highest level of performance possible consistent with the school’s need.
  • Provide for the development of information processing systems that reflect the latest advancement in the field that provide the highest level of information access for users as all levels of the school.
  • Develop configuration and performance standards for networks; and implement and monitor controls to ensure they are maintained.
  • Coach and direct staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental goals, objectives and budget.
  • Review on a continual basis the department procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.
  • Direct the department’s activities including goal and action plan development with the administration, hardware and software recommendations and training.
  • Maintain awareness of changing trends and regulation which effect the department and act on as required.
  • Make purchasing decisions based on bid pricing provided; monitoring to ensure that accurate records are maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for network.
  • Work with e-rate consultant to become proficient in completing applications and maximizing funds available to the district.
  • Develop an annual budget using e-rate resources, providing justification when needed.
  • Review and compare actual results to planned budgetary performance, preparing reports reflecting those results.
  • Conduct Team meetings, providing guidance and direction in accordance with overall strategy to the staff
  • Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method to access information.
  • Ensure support is provided to staff in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Work with the District Office to maintain an accurate Inventory List of all equipment.
  • Performs other duties requested by the Superintendent.
