Description

Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy (PMCA) is a K-12 private Christian school just outside the NW perimeter of Philadelphia. Built upon Reformed theological principles, PMCA has served generations of Christian families for over 75 years with personalized, high-quality Christian education.

PMCA seeks an Information Technology Coordinator to manage its highly variegated IT environment. The physical network includes several servers, a LAN, WIFI, Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, printers, and AV & video equipment. The software environment includes both Windows & macOS, MS office, Google Workspace, Canvas, Renweb, FACT-SIS, and security capability, among other features. The IT Coordinator will coordinate personal responsibilities together with adjunctive duties to be performed by an outside IT support service as follows:

 Maintain existing systems and networks 

 Train faculty, staff, and students

 Develop and maintain a technology plan
 

Requirements

An effective Technology Coordinator should evidence at minimum the following technical abilities:

  • Solid understanding of computer networks and systems administration

  • Experience with administering Microsoft Windows operating systems (currently Windows 10, Windows server 2019) and Macintosh operating systems

  • Strong problem-solving ability with both hardware and software

  • Proclivity towards staying up to date with industry developments in hardware and software, especially those related to education

  • Ability to provide training, especially in Google apps, word-processing and internet usage

 An effective Technology Coordinator should evidence the following professional qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage with, solve problems for, and empower each computer user at widely varying skill levels

  • A solid understanding of the unique needs of a Christian educational community

  • An adaptable spirit and commitment to ongoing personal education
