Responsibilities: The Director of Information Technology (IT) will provide leadership to ensure IT and Computer Science (CS) programs and courses at John Tyler Community College (JTCC) are cutting edge and meet the region’s workforce demands. The director will serve as a 12-month IT teaching faculty member with significant administrative responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, program assessment, schedule development, hiring and evaluating part-time faculty, advising students, actively serving on divisional and college committees, and attending regional and state professional meetings and conferences. The IT Director will work with local employers and government officials to create appropriate training and credit programs to help students obtain the skills needed to enter the IT workforce trained and prepared. Teaching schedules may include day and evening classes and off-campus assignments.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems or in related field with a minimum of 18 graduate-level credits in Information Technology or Information Systems. College level teaching experience and/or relevant work experience. Ability to use instructional technologies. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills. The successful candidate must be willing to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, and online classes with the ability to be flexible to work at any of the College’s locations. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check are required.
