About the Role

The IT Manager is responsible for the ongoing support of all aspects of the organization's technology environment including software, hardware (including A/V equipment), networks, user accounts, and information security.  This full-time role ensures that all New Classrooms employees receive friendly and proactive technical support.

What You Would Do

  • Provide a full range of technology support to all employees, both local and remote, and work with external IT teams to support schools

  • Lead an ongoing project to strengthen and maintain our cybersecurity posture

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity and performance

  • Maintain phone and A/V equipment in the NYC office

  • Assemble/disassemble for regular all-team meetings

  • Drive A/V for major meetings

  • Lead technology on-boarding of new employees and off-boarding for departures

  • Lead the IT Operations space

What We Are Looking For

  • Impeccable communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required

  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and project management skills

  • Interest in education and/or education technology

  • Experience providing friendly customer service to diverse groups of stakeholders

  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity

  • Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and VoIP

  • Experience supporting macOS, Windows, and Chrome OS

  • Working knowledge of A/V equipment such as projectors, TVs, Apple TV, and videoconference units

  • IT asset management and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to create and implement effective policies, processes, and procedures

  • Google G Suite administration a plus

  • People management and leadership experience a big plus
