The Business Alignment Manager is responsible for managing the service level and business relationship processes within Data Architecture.  The Business Alignment Manager coordinates the relationships between other service management areas of Data Architecture and ensures that current and future service level requirements of customers are identified, understood, and documented in service level agreements.  The Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a constructive relationship between Data Architecture and its customers at a strategic level.

 

Management of Service Level Resources: Create and manage the service level management practices as well as design new service level policies and encourage use of the new practices.  Analyze the effectiveness of and create metrics for the service level programs by observing its usage and evaluate its impact in terms of the organizational benefits.  Participates and contributes to cross-functional and cross-department high-level service strategy.  Establishes strong cross-functional and cross-organizational relationships ITS units.  

 

(Management of Service Level Resources...:) Ensures Service Level Requirements, Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and Data Use Agreements are created and maintained for each service.  Creates, tracks, and recommends changes to departmental market spaces.
 

Business Relationship Management: Establishes customer relationships and ensures Data Architecture has a good understanding of customer needs.  Works with the Business Architecture group in establishing communication channels with customers.  Reports the adherence of service level targets to customers.

 

Research:  Conducts research on best practice approaches affecting Data Architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a combination of 5 years experience in managing business processes, SLM and/or business relationships. Experience with communicating to a business community, monitoring processes, and using metrics to report on the success of a program.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree with a combination of 10 years experience in managing business processes, SLM and business relationships. Experience with higher education business processes.

 

Certifications/Licenses:

ITIL Foundation : Must obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
