Position Summary:

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for supporting, facilitating, preparing, and developing the policies, standards, and guidelines relating to information technology. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work independently, on a team or in a collaboration with others on software development projects in a database environment

  • Write, test and debug computer programs utilizing current methods of analysis, design, programming, installation, testing, debugging, and documentation to effectively serve various user groups throughout the institution

  • Work with colleagues in departments developing, augmenting and maintaining a fully-integrated administrative computer information system

  • Support structured secure access to student, staff and management information

  • Maintain current knowledge of information systems specifically related to administrative computing functions

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software

  • Ability to analyze computer system problems or errors and devise corrective measures

  • Ability to write moderately complex applications to fulfill requirements or select appropriate off-the-shelf software and modify to suit the agency or institution

  • Ability to read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product acceptability and/or quality

  • Ability to code, test, and debug computer programs and write program documentation

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday 
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Other:

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of experience in computer programming and analysis.

  • Three (3) years of experience with Banner ERP system.

  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Three (3) years of experience in a higher-education environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field

  • Three (3) years of experience in system analysis, telecommunications, information technology, information security, or related field

  • Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
