Maryvale Preparatory School, a Catholic college preparatory school for young women in grades 6-12, seeks an Information Technology Manager. This position is available immediately and is a full-time, 12-month position, working M-F, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., with occasional weekend and additional hours required for events. This is an exempt position. Rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position Summary:

The Information Technology Manager reports to the Director of Information Technology and provides technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems and fixing issues with hardware, software, and the network. This position requires a flexible work schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide hands-on support to faculty, staff and students in a timely and courteous manner; provide guidance to help them troubleshoot issues. 

  • Improve system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes. 

  • Work with Director of Information Technology to maintain network, including wired and wireless infrastructure. 

  • Employee work orders – ensure all employee equipment is updated regularly (drives, OS, Office, Adobe, etc.).

  • Support and maintain all computer hardware (laptops, desktops, iPads, printers, projectors, phones, etc.). 

  • Student work orders: manage common student issues to include device setup/connection and email or account concerns. 

  • Standard Active Directory responsibilities (setup of mailboxes, resetting passwords, setting up group policies and other related activities).

  • Manage users and data (Adding new employees, data archiving and backups, email setup, management and archiving).

  • Assist in the control booth for assemblies, meetings and events, when needed. 

  • Technology training for employees and students

  • Evaluate/test new technologies and resources to see how they may better benefit Maryvale.

Job Specifications

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Technical/Associates degree in Information Systems or related field required. 

  • 1+ year(s) help desk/desktop support experience required. 

  • Network+, A+ certifications desired. 

  • Experience working with help desk/desktop issues involving Windows workstations (Windows 7 & 10), Mac (OSX), printers and iPads. 

  • Solid knowledge base and some work experience with networking and server administration. 

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact. 

  • Demonstrated proactive, self-starter who takes initiative and acts with a sense of urgency to get things done; strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; documentation skills, research and resolution skills and multi-tasking skills. 

  • Ability to read, comprehend and communicate complex technical information. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively, utilizing interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public. 

  • Ability to express ideas in an organized, articulate and concise manner.
