Job Description

The Manager in Information Technology Services will act as a member of the ITS Leadership team within Enterprise Application Systems (EAS). They will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of an IT team. They will assist the IT Director in the effective use of Syracuse University’s information systems to support the University’s mission and goals. They will help manage the administrative and operational activities of the IT unit. They will be responsible for leading large cross-functional technical teams with regard to projects and upgrades. They will mentor individual members of the IT team in regard to the specific technologies and practices used by the University.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience required. 8 plus years in a Management/Leadership role required.

Job Specific Qualifications

• 8 plus years in an IT Management/Leadership role required.
• PeopleSoft application and development environment experience and knowledge.
• Project management experience with proven successful outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written skills to communicate technical requirements as appropriate to the audience
• Ability to work with other members of the EAS Management Team and ITS staff to provide the leadership and the path necessary to achieve the strategic direction of the University.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Enterprise System Specialists in the support of ERP applications.
• Support and maintain the ERP applications in support of administrative, financial, and student systems.
• Manage large project teams of various University members in support of ERP application implementations and upgrades.
• Provide consulting and collaboration within EAS and ITS to support the strategic direction of the department and University.
