SMCHS has an opening for an IT Repair Technician.  This is a full-time, 12-month position

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff to help resolve their technology issues.

Set up computers out of box; to include: assembly, format hard drive, set CMOS, install Operating system and network protocols.

Install and configure current campus wide software and licensed products as requested.

Diagnose computer problems.  Ascertain if problem is related to cabling, wifi, software, hardware, or user and then assist in the correction of the situation.

Replace or install motherboards, hard drives, video cards, network cards, memory, and other parts as needed.

Assist users having difficulty with computer problems:  may be configuration issues, may be user training on software needed, may be hardware problem, or may be other technology related problem.

Assist users in setting up their work space or mobile computing device, including, but not limited to: printer drivers, desktop icons, and other approved peripherals.

Detail-oriented with exceptional record keeping skills and ability to multitask and track multiple projects (computers) at once.

Coordinate equipment shipments to/from vendors.

Dexterity: Computer repair techs use their hands to manipulate objects within the computer.

Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical manuals

Effective communication skills

Ability to learn new applications and programs

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Assist with other technology related problems and setups as needed and/or assigned by the Information Technology Director.

Technology Committee member responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of school strategic technology planning.

Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma, AA degree or BA preferred, and A+ certification preferred or 6 months related work experience in  diagnosing/troubleshooting hardware issues on pc, laptops, and printers. As well as basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, hubs, and switches. Experience with Dell or Lenovo products preferred.
