Saint Barnabas High School is a fully accredited all-girls college preparatory school located in the northeast Bronx. The School Information Technology Specialist will:

  • Assess the technology needs of the school, including hardware and software applications
  • Distribute and analyze faculty/staff assessments to determine the need for staff development and training
  • Manage Google Console, oversee Google Classroom rollout and all techncial elements of rollout. Troubleshoot and fix PCs as needed, work with vendor to fix as needed. MUST have previous experience with Google Console rollout and Google Classroom
  • Maintain MESH network for faculty, administration/staff, students and guests
  • Assist with the purchase and inventory of computer hardware and software applications throughout the school building.
  • Maintain the administrative and student networks as follows: add and delete student and faculty users from networks as well as managing e-mail accounts .
  • Review the school’s “Acceptable Use Policy”(AUP).
  • Knowledge of the AUP, spot-check Internet history for breaches in policy , report any breaches in policy to the administration for immediate disciplinary action, review the AUP on a yearly basis and revise when necessary.
  • Explain the AUP to faculty and staff so that they can assist in monitoring students’use of equipment and Internet.
  • Ability to facilitate instruction in Computer Courses such as: Coding, AP Computer Science, etc.
  • Provide support for Rediker Software and Raiser’s Edge as well as processing the E-rate application.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network malfunctions.
  • Rewiring, adding hubs, and reconfiguring the network to meet the needs of the building.
  • Develop Quick Reference Cards/Guides for users
  • Develop and distribute needs analysis, provide findings and develop staff training plan
  • Research new and emerging technologies, develop recommendations and present budget
  • Provide reports to Principal, Board of Trustees and other administration. Work closely with school leadership, monitor networks
  • Maintain SmartBoards and all technical elements to ensure buidlding has 100% up-time
  • Work with off-site vendor as needed to troubleshoot/resolve level 2 issues
  • Ability to upgrade and trouble shoot general computer problems and technology issues and failures for classroom teachers in a timely fashion.
  • Understand and appreciate the importance of technology in the classroom so that issues are prevented or corrected as swiftly as possible to maintain the educational environment at optimum level. Knowledge of Pearson education program, Rediker Administrator plus , Edline, email blasts, and Google apps for education are strongly suggested
  • Be familiar with Smart Board and Promethian Boards so as to be able to trouble shoot, replace bulbs, order supplies and produce Requests For Proposals for new equipment.
  • Be a resource to faculty and staff for Professional Development and personal learning to increase the staff's technology skills and comfort level.
  • Assign and maintain passwords and password confidentiality of all users.
  • Add,delete and monitor student files on the network.
  • Replace ink cartridges for printers in computer labs, offices, classrooms, lab and throughout building

Preferred:

College degree or specialty school preferred.

Proficiency Chromebooks, as well as Apple Products: MacBooks, Ipads, Windows servers, etc.

Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting PCs, devices and networks

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic with a commitment to the principles of Catholic education.
