Summary of Duties

Under general supervision, this position has responsibility for testing, documenting, debugging, implementing, and maintaining .Net Applications as part of the ongoing support of business systems at WSU. This position develops business expertise in several of the following functional areas: Human Resources, Accounting, Payroll, E-commerce, Student systems, and various integrations in support of enterprise level systems and end users. Performs standard consulting, analysis, programming, development, configuration, maintenance, installation and/or technical support.
Follows established work methods and procedures to complete tasks on .Net web applications, Java web applications, support products, or pieces of larger systems or programs.

Performs standard tasks such as consulting with customers to identify and analyze technology needs and problems; responding to and resolving trouble reports from users; building and updating system tables and configurations; analyzing problems for parts of applications and solving problems with some assistance; supporting and enhancing existing applications in compliance with specifications and standards; conducting unit, system, or usability testing; writing specifications and developing reports; developing and conducting system training for users; serving as part of a problem solving team addressing more complex issues.

This position also performs tasks such as assisting in designing and testing new architectures; implementing complex process flows with MuleSoft; assisting senior staff by performing directed research and analysis of tools and technologies; and enhancing the knowledge base by adding to and creating new content on the development wiki.

Position Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

Three years of information technology experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related field.

  • Experience developing web sites with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. 

  • Experience with web services, either SOAP or REST.

  • Experience with SQL.

  • Experience with Java and Java IDEs.

  • Experience with .NET and Visual Studio.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with a wide variety of people.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Successful work experience in higher education.
