The Information, Technology and Systems Manager reports to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and is a member of the Leadership Team. The incumbent provides direct supervision to four employees including two Business Systems Analysts, an Academic Information Systems/Computing Systems Specialist and an Applications Programmer. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals and has overall responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating all activities for Admissions Systems, Data Management, and Records units within Undergraduate Admissions, ensuring compliance and program integrity. Provides direction to staff according to established Information Technology Services (ITS), Federal, State and campus policies and management guidance. Responsible for administering policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provides priority setting and work flow analysis across Admissions units and is responsible for accurate, efficient and timely delivery of systems to support the work of the department. 

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is part of the Division of Undergraduate Education at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) and is dedicated to providing service to prospective, new, and continuing students pursuing an undergraduate education. In carrying out our mission, we promote the campus and its programs to prospective students and their representatives, as well as the public at large; we admit and enroll students that reflect the values and commitment of the campus faculty and administration, and we ensure those students a smooth transition to the start of their academic careers at UCSC; we assist continuing UCSC students in the timely completion of their degrees.  

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with an emphasis in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, or in a related field. 

Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. 

Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation. 

Knowledge of business analysis processes and procedures and alignment and compliance with applicable policy and regulation. 

Knowledge of related areas of information technology. 

Strong critical thinking, persuasion/negotiation, mentoring, leadership/management, problem solving, human resources policies and procedures relating to management responsibilities. 

Excellent oral and written communication, quantitative and analytical skills. 

Demonstrated skill in managing technical staff. 

Communicates technical information in a clear and concise manner.  

Master's degree. 

Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization. 

Working knowledge and expertise with the Banner Financial System, The Oracle/PeopleSoft Student System, the California Student Aid WebGrants System, the Federal Central Processing Systems and Common Origination and Disbursement Systems. 

Experience developing and managing systems for Admissions Offices in a four year college/university setting.  

Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.  

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
