Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Technology Technician will demonstrate his/her ability to interact professionally and positively with staff and students in an educational environment. 

Primary duties include:

  • Supporting desktop computers, laptops, printers, Chromebooks, and Google Apps

    • Deploy and maintain computers, Chromebooks, interactive whiteboards, printers and other educational technology hardware

    • Support Wireless network and Google Chromebooks/Admin Console

    • Address staff requests for technical assistance in a timely and professional manner, using the School Dude Incident interface  

    • Train school site staff on a variety of software applications and hardware operations  

    • Assist users via remote connection for the purpose of troubleshooting and/or resolving workstation issues

  • Troubleshooting, repair and support educational audio-visual hardware such as interactive whiteboards boards, projectors, speakers and document cameras

  • Backup, job monitoring, configuration and maintenance

  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. 

  • All other duties as assigned by the IT Manager

Job Requirements

Preferred Technical Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of desktop OS Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10

  • Working knowledge of network OS Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2.

  • Working knowledge of Apple OS X High Sierra and Mojave

  • Knowledge of basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, wireless)

Personal and Professional Qualifications

  • Excellent people skills and good communication

  • Ability to research software and hardware related issues to resolution

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff

  • Must be a user-friendly team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and initiative

  • Must adapt easily to work assignments, additional priorities, and new procedures.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments; prioritize and identify needs and solve problems independently

  • Ability to move technology equipment (up to 50lbs.) Ability to remain current with both professional skill set and district technology policies

General Qualifications:

  • At least 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • An Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology or Information Systems preferred 

  • A+ certification desirable

  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
