JOB SUMMARY:

The Information Technology Division seeks a creative, energetic individual to fill the position of Information Technology Training Specialist. This position directly supports faculty, staff, and students in the use of various academic and administrative technologies in the Coppin State University environment through training, one-to-one assistance, coaching, and awareness events.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate innovative training sessions for faculty, staff, and students on campus administrative systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), instructional technology tools (Blackboard, Tegrity, etc.), and campus software applications.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management materials, including training guides, presentations, documentation, job aids, and video tutorials.
  • Provide instructional technology assistance to faculty.
  • Provide one-on-one training assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Co-manage the student technology ambassador group.
  • Conduct needs analysis for new workshops, training, and professional development.
  • Investigate and promote innovative users of current technology to support workplace productivity and efficiency.
  • Plan and execute outreach activities to raise awareness of campus technology systems.
  • Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in technology.
  • Other job-related duties, as assigned.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years of relevant work experience. Master’s degree may be substituted for up to two years of work experience.
  • Use of learning management system (Blackboard preferred).
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2016. Microsoft Office User Certification and/or specialized certification a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct workshops in various formats to diverse audiences.
  • Experience designing and facilitation training.
  • Experience with a Learning Management System for the development of learning content; familiarity with Blackboard preferred.
  • Experience with content authoring tools such as iSpring, Storyline, or Captivate.
