Kent Denver’s Office of Innovation has an opening for a full-time Innovation Associate specializing in entrepreneurial education to join our team.  Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer, this position supports, manages, and nurtures exceptional entrepreneurial experiences as they mentor and teach students, coach and partner with faculty, and connect Kent Denver to the broader entrepreneurial community.  

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Teach Upper School courses and a Middle School Elective in relevant areas of business management, investments, and entrepreneurship
  • Supervise and Lead Management of Bogue, our student run Cafe, including managing finances, inventory, advertising, and point of sale software
  • Serve on an instructional support team that provides active and passive supervision and class partnership for the Kent Denver Impact Studios (our fabrication labs)
  • Design and host lunch and learn series & podcast series with professional experts
  • Contribute to the construction of a network of professional advisors and a database of community opportunities for Kent Denver students
  • Supervise pass/fail Innovation Workshops and Independent Studies in Entrepreneurship
  • Contribute expertise and passion to Office of Innovation and institutional projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The successful candidate will have qualifications that include: a bachelor degree in education, business, or a related field (required), ability to articulate the value of and advocate for the role of entrepreneurial education, experience working in an entrepreneurial and/or business setting, an ability to thrive working as a member of a team, previous work in a school environment, ability to teach and mentor teenage students, excitement around collaborating with other teaching professionals, a growth mindset, demonstrated ability to manage and execute projects, experience in a design and fabrication studio.

 

EMPLOYMENT

 

Work hours for this position are 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional evening, night, and/or weekend work.  In addition to a generous benefits package including retirement, health, dental, and professional development, this position receives 5 weeks vacation (taken in late June and July), 2 weeks over the school’s winter break, 1 week spring break, all school holidays, and 2 personal days.  The salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000.
