Indiana University East is accepting applications for the Instructional Design and Technology Specialist in the Center for Faculty Development. The Center for Faculty Development is a faculty development office focused on improving teaching and enhancing student learning. The successful candidate for this position will assist faculty in designing and delivering high-quality courses, incorporating appropriate pedagogy and technology. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with campus faculty, staff, university-system personnel, and Information Technology team members.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities :

Assist faculty and staff with the design, development, and implementation of high-quality hybrid, online, and traditional courses.

Will work as campus QM coordinator and assist in the management of informal and official QM course reviews, in accordance with IU and QM policies and procedures; promote QM to IU faculty; assist faculty in the informal and formal QM process; develop and deliver QM workshops. 

Provide recommendations and assistance with the appropriate application of learning technologies to support an increasingly technologically diverse campus-learning environment.

Provide one-on-one consultation and training related to digital teaching/learning, instructional design, and pedagogy.

Develop and deliver live workshops for faculty in pedagogically relevant topics, as well as online learning units.

Serve as a campus expert in the Canvas learning management system.

Work on projects and services related to data management (i.e. enrollment data, website development).

Process and create simple multimedia products.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution (major in instructional design, instructional technology or information systems, or related discipline preferred).

  • Experience: 2 years related experience required; may consist of working with faculty rather than direct instructional design experience.

Salary Range  The expected starting salary range is from $46,217.60-$47,500.08, commensurate with experience. IU offers an excellent benefit package.
