Job Summary

The Institute for Learning and Teaching Excellence (ILTE) is a faculty development office focused on improving teaching and enhancing student learning. The successful candidate for this position will assist faculty in designing high quality courses, incorporating appropriate pedagogy and technology. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with campus faculty, staff, and university-system personnel, and Information Technology team members.

Required Qualifications

Minimum: Education: 
BA/BS degree from an accredited institution (major in instructional design, instructional technology, or related discipline preferred)

Minimum Experience: 
2 years related experience required; may consist of working with faculty rather than direct instructional design experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to work as part of a team in a customer service based, user­friendly, and open environment is a must 
• Required experience with learning management systems
• Demonstrated strong skills in presentation (teaching experience preferred) including the ability to interact with people with varying degrees of technical knowledge 
• Demonstrates effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills
• Proven orientation toward quality service
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Knowledge of a broad range of electronic learning technologies
• Required experience with Microsoft and Adobe productivity software, web and multimedia technologies, and collaboration systems
• Understanding of and commitment to the IU Southeast mission

Equipment utilized: 
Must be able to use both Mac and PC as well as standard audiovisual equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred
Experience with Canvas preferred 
Experience with Quality Matters preferred 
Experience creating hybrid and on-line course materials preferred

Requires the ability to sit for extended time periods

Salary Range $46,218 yr.
