Job Summary

Inspire Awesome with Eastern Washington University! We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Instructional Technology Consultant-Technical Workshops & Events (ITS 3)

Instructional Technology Design and Development is a division of Information Technology at EWU. This unit is responsible for research, development, management, and review of all teaching and technology solutions as well as academically oriented graphics and photography. This includes learning management systems (LMS), Media systems and services (streaming, lecture and desktop capture, course recordings, etc.), learning environments (course design, instructional design, pedagogical consultation, etc.), learning space design, technology events and workshops, and learning analytics.

In addition to supporting all of the above systems, this position is responsible for fostering teaching with technology best practices as well as planning and coordination of technical events and workshops.

The Instructional Technology Consultant provides support of instructional technology systems, expertise and advisement on implementation and use of instructional technology through consultation and collaboration with clients (college, department, faculty, student, administration/staff, and the community); this position is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing instructional best practices using technology. This position supports internal and external (regional, state, local) technical workshops and events as they align with the organization’s educational goals. This position must have knowledge of IT systems, concepts, and methods and is directly involved with developing, delivering and supporting IT systems and services.

Required Qualifications

Specific Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management of information systems, education/adult learning, instructional technology or related field.
  • 3 years of recent instructional technology experience relevant to the position’s essential duties.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recognized Teaching Certificate (state issued, Sloan-C, or similar), formal teaching experience and/or certificate/experience in professional training and development.
  • 2 years Learning Management System administration or administrative experience with a similar content management system.
