Holy Comforter Episcopal School seeks a full-time, 11-12 month Instructional Technology Coach/Teacher beginning July 2019. Holy Comforter Episcopal School serves 524 students from PK3 through 8th grade. Red bricks and white columns create a beautiful campus atmosphere on an almost 80-acre parcel.

A HCES teacher must demonstrate a consistent sense of enthusiasm and passion that inspires children to want to learn; continually strive to foster new and innovative ideas to help grow the program beyond the required expectations; Continue to challenge yourself to be the consummate learner in your field and develop and implement lesson plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required. In addition, teachers must:

Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.

  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.

  • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results for instructional activities.

  • Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.

  • Cooperate with other members of staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives and methods according to school requirements.

  • Use technology in the teaching/learning process.

  • Communicate regularly with parents about the progress of their child(ren) through newsletters, emails, webpage.

  • Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.

  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular or co-curricular activities as assigned or approved by the school.

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students.

  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to school and board policies.

  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.

  • Assist in selection of instructional materials.

  • Prepare substitute lesson and emergency plans.

Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Florida teaching certificate required with endorsements for subject and level assigned or related certification. All teachers shall have a degree in education or related appropriate field. Prefer 1-2 years experience.

Frequent prolonged and irregular hours including but not limited to sitting, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, climbing, walking and using hands. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Employee is required to see, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Maintain emotional control under stress and maintain positive attitude when dealing with parents and customers. Use available resources to define issues and solve problems.
