Job Summary

This position will assist Ft. Wayne faculty in transitioning to their use of IU learning technologies. Serve as an instructional and instructional technologies consultant on the Ft. Wayne campus, focusing primarily on the pedagogical needs of Ft. Wayne faculty while also providing general support to students involving learning technologies (e.g., Canvas, eTexts and so on). This position will serve as a one on one and small group consultant as well as a workshop provider for faculty, instructor and student clients. Consultations and workshops will focus on pedagogically appropriate uses of the full range of current and emerging instructional technologies, including learning management systems, electronic collaboration and social networking, electronic conferencing and virtual environments, distance education, open educational resources, etc. Consultations and workshops will also focus on instructional/course design and best practices that may or may not involve technologies (i.e. assisting faculty in the development of measurable learning objectives and course activities and assessments that will effectively help students to meet the course learning outcomes). This consultant will utilize available resources such as IT Training and Education and the IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning in developing and delivering support to clients. The position is located in the Center for Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) on the Ft. Wayne campus, which is committed to promoting excellence in teaching and learning in Fort Wayne.

Required Qualifications REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology or related field, plus 2 years of experience in instructional development and/or instructional technology consulting and/or training.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications — especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with multimedia technologies such as software video editors (e.g., Adobe Premiere), e-learning authoring software (e.g. Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc.) and collaboration and learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Desire2Learn, etc.); Project management experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a proactive group lead for technology-related projects of varying scope and duration; Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (both written and verbal) essential to present and interact with people in a group, presentation, or workshop setting with audiences which possess varying degrees of technical knowledge; Customer service and problem-solving oriented, with superior ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. 4 years experience.
