Salary: $274.44 - $334.68 per day entry level

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Minimum Education/Certification:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Hold a valid Texas teaching certificate
  • SBEC Master Technology Teacher Certified preferred
  • Continuing education in technology
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Eligible for coverage under the District’s vehicle insurance program
  •  

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of technology application and core curriculum TEKS
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software applications and basic PC operation
  • Experience in developing and delivering technology training to adult learners
  • Knowledge of the latest research and trends associated with the use of instructional technology
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept problem solving and leadership skills
  • Experience and knowledge of integrating curriculum and technology in an instructional setting

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose: The person in this position will be responsible for working with teachers to achieve integration between technology and content objectives in the classroom and providing training and support to accomplish this goal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

  1. Provide weekly staff development training opportunities on technology integration that meet campus needs with a focus on improving student performance.
  2. Share effective technical and instructional strategies with teachers that support content objectives in all content areas while integrating technology into the classroom.
  3. Assist principals and campus committees with planning of technology training, implementation of campus improvement plan, selection of hardware/software and technology budgeting.
  4. Meet with district Technology Staff Development and Curriculum departments and other Instructional Technology Specialists every week for the purpose of curriculum planning, collaboration, idea sharing, personal staff development and other necessary support.
  5. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to meet the instructional technology needs of the campus and district (e.g., combinations might include 8:00 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. work day).
  6. Maintain records of staff development training hours, sign in sheets and training materials.
  7. Provide opportunities for collaboration with teachers to create and/or model integrated lesson plans with the intent of designing individual instructional modules, materials and training aides.
  8. Meet with principals and staff members to set goals for the campus related to technology, the campus improvement plan and the budget.
  9. Develop resources aligned to district curriculum to support teachers and improve student performance and achievement.
  10. Provide trainings for district personnel as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum Experience:

 

  • Three years of teaching experience in K-12 curriculum area

OTHER INFORMATION:   Equipment Used: Computer, printers, whiteboards, document cameras, digital cameras, camcorders, electronic educational games, GPS, iPods, BlackBerries, and other computer peripherals. Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds), reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending, climbing (stairs), operation of motor vehicle, specific visual requirements (using computer), depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors, specific hearing requirement (oral and phone conversations). Outside and inside; excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness and/or chilling; excessive noise (intermittent), dust, electrical energy, works around machinery with moving parts, unusual fatigue factors, computer input, frequent or prolonged hours of work. Ability to concentrate (detailed work), communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; reason, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, read, coordinate district functions, compile, compute, instruct, and maintain emotional control under stress.
