Job Description: 

Provide customer service and technical support on behalf of ASU’s Classroom Support team at the Tempe campus.

 

Essential Duties: 

Assisting with desktop, classroom, and computing site operations

Setting up, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and multimedia equipment

Maintaining classroom and computing site environments

Developing and fostering client relationships with faculty to maximize their classroom experience

Training users on hardware and software tools

Providing technical assistance for video conferencing

Performing computer, multimedia controller, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting

Maintaining records, supplies, and inventory

Leading, mentoring, training, and evaluating the performance of student employees based on established procedures

 

Days and Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 2pm to 11pm; Friday, 10am to 7pm; and includes rotating weekends. 


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in technology or related field AND two years of experience providing information technology services; OR Four years of experience providing information technology services; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.  Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

•Experience providing excellent service to a diverse customer base, preferably in an educational setting

•Experience providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and training for classroom technologies

•Demonstrated knowledge of Apple and Windows Operating Systems

•Experience working in a lead position, including management of others

•Experience working with internal groups and outside vendors to collaborate on projects, problem solve, or design solutions to technical issues

•Experience managing cases in reporting systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow

•Experience in communicating with both technical and non-technical users

 

Working Environment: 

•Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking

•Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects

•Reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to and over 100 pounds

•Receive regular review of completed tasks

•Communicate to perform essential duties

•Use office equipment including a personal computer
