Duties

The Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania is looking for a motivated instructional technology specialist who will develop solutions for faculty and staff to effectively use educational technologies and resources. As a member of the Academic Technology team, this position will: (1) Work collaboratively to build partnerships with the GSE community to assess and coordinate resources and support needed to meet ongoing classroom, research, curricular, and administrative technology challenges. (2) Research and recommend instructional and administrative technology solutions with the goal of improving the institution’s IT resources and services, using rigorous qualitative and quantitative research methods, advanced survey techniques, and software such as STATA and Qualtrics; (3) Develop and lead training for faculty and staff on administrative and educational technology to meet ongoing challenges; (4) Participate in research projects and/or pilot programs to develop strategies aimed to improve outcomes in a variety of learning environments; (5) Research and administer implementing processes, best practices, and requirement gathering for academic software and technology adoption to optimize school operations and learning technology, facilitate new initiatives, and strengthen partnerships between the IT team, faculty, researchers, and staff at the School; (6) Provide socially and culturally-diversified perspectives to faculty and staff in their implementation of instructional technologies that cater to diverse needs of the global institutional audience.

The Instructional Technology Specialist will serve as a link between the Academic Technology team and researchers at the school who study and publish on a range of topics relevant to education from early childhood to higher education at the local, state, national, and global level. This position will participate and collaborate with research practitioners at the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) to contribute to evidence-based knowledge builder to inform important decisions of Pre-K to 2nd grade early childhood education policy and practice. This position is dependent on grant funding.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
