The McIntire School Commerce at the University of Virginia seeks a new Instructional Technology Specialist with the development of appropriate strategies for implementing learning technology across a broad range of academic programs and initiatives. The incumbent provides training, documentation, testing, and technical support. The incumbent manages the technical aspects of course development and delivery for the McIntire school's online and hybrid programs as well as provides support for traditional programs making use of LMS tools. This includes supporting the online course management system (presently Blackboard and D2L) by creating new courses, curating and displaying faculty content, loading course rosters and distributing student credentials, and managing third party integrations with the LMS environment. In addition the incumbent facilitates asynchronous and synchronous learning sessions performed by faculty in the various programs. 

A Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of instructional technology experience is required. A Master's Degree in Instructional Technology or a related field is preferred. The ability to develop and deliver technical training sessions and workshops is essential. The incumbent must be able to troubleshoot technical course design issues with faculty. A proven ability to work independently and with a diverse team is essential. Strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to relate well to the career and educational needs of college students is required. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of multimedia software, such as Articulate Storyline is required. Working knowledge of web design and scripting using HTML, CSS, and Javascript is essential. Preference will be given to applicants with working knowledge of LMS administration using Blackboard or D2L. Experience with Kaltura, Vitalsource, and McGraw Hill Kinect is preferred.
