This specialist will:

Facilitate integration of technology in the instructional program for different grades and curricular areas:

Identify resources that support teaching and learning that align with NPES’ infrastructure/network

Co-plan units with faculty that utilize technology effectively in curriculum while supporting educational goals

Model technology-enriched lessons with students

Research software to determine its best use at NPES

Teach software to teachers

Provide staff development sessions, as needed

Assist faculty and staff with professional productivity technology including classroom websites, blogs, Promethean Boards, SMS, presentations, and Google Apps

Work with technology committee members to identify common issues, solve problems, and implement the school’s initiatives. Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications/initiatives, and enhancements to existing applications

Coordinate with technology committee to address in-school technology issues

Perform Network and IT services, as needed

Respond to technology help desk requests:

Prioritize and schedule issue resolution

Respond to critical issues in a timely manner

Ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of user issues

Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved

Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users

Prepare and oversee needed technology for:

Employee use

Student use

All testing sessions

Report cards

School presentations

Evaluate the effects of the iPad programs regarding student learning and make recommendations accordingly

Other duties as assigned, by Principal

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor of Arts Degree; M.A. in Technology Integration, preferred

A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated success in technology integration

A strong grasp of appropriate technology for elementary schools

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support and extend the objectives of the School’s curriculum and programs, and provide a cohesive elementary program

Experience providing a nurturing, creative, challenging and inclusive environment that fosters mutual respect and age appropriate levels of independence

Demonstrates interest in professional development; a desire to grow and expand as a lifelong learner

Exceptional organization and planning skills, and superior communication skills - both written and oral

Familiarity and comfort with all business and educational technology, (a knowledge of interactive whiteboard technology and iPads, blogs, Blackbaud, and Web maintenance)
