Position Overview

NDP has long been at the forefront of instructional technology integration and innovation. The Instructional Technology Specialist serves as a strategic partner in advancing innovative teaching and learning while supporting the school’s mission, strategic priorities, and commitment to educating young women to transform the world. The position serves as a bridge between academics, operations, and technology, ensuring that digital innovation meaningfully supports student learning, faculty growth, institutional priorities, and operational excellence. This is a 12-month position.

The primary function of this position is to advance the technology skillset of faculty, staff, and students while researching, recommending, implementing, and supporting instructional technologies, digital learning initiatives, artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, and emerging pedagogical practices. Working collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, and the Technology Department, the Instructional Technology Specialist helps shape and sustain a future-ready teaching and learning environment grounded in responsible, ethical, and mission-aligned technology use.

This role requires a highly collaborative and innovative instructional leader who possesses strong analytical, organizational, instructional coaching, project management, and interpersonal skills. Work experience should include a demonstrated track record of successful instructional technology integration, faculty professional learning, digital transformation initiatives, strategic leadership, and informational technology competencies in a grade 6–12 teaching and learning environment.

Core Responsibilities

Instructional Technology Leadership & Innovation

  • Support rigorous teaching and learning in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and digitally enhanced enrironments.
  • Ensure alignment of instructional technology initiatives with institutional priorities, curricular goals, and emerging instructional trends.
  • Research, pilot, evaluate, recommend, implement, and support instructional technologies, digital tools, AI platforms, and technology initiatives that enhance teaching, learning, student engagement, creativity, accessibility, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and faculty to integrate technology meaningfully into curriculum design, instructional practices, assessment strategies, and differentiated learning experiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional technology initiatives, faculty technology integration practices, and digital learning tools through data collection, feedback, observation, and ongoing program review.
  • Analyze usage data, faculty feedback, and instructional outcomes to guide instructional technology decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop and support digital citizenship and cybersecurity education initiatives for students, faculty, staff, and families.
  • Lead and support school-wide initiatives related to artificial intelligence, including AI literacy, ethical AI use, faculty and student guidance, classroom integration, and the development of AI guidance, guardrails, and best practices aligned with NDP’s mission and philosophy.

Professional Learning & Faculty Support

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff, including workshops, summer sessions, onboarding experiences, and individualized support.
  • Design and deliver professional learning focused on innovation, AI literacy, digital pedagogy, assessment design, cybersecurity awareness, accessibility, productivity tools, and student engagement strategies.
  • Provide differentiated coaching and support to faculty with varying levels of technology proficiency and comfort.
  • Mentor and support new faculty members through technology onboarding, systems training, classroom technology integration, and instructional best practices.
  • Create and maintain training materials, documentation, video tutorials, resource hubs, and technology guides for faculty, staff, students, and families.
  • Support faculty and staff in effectively utilizing Microsoft 365, Blackbaud/PrepNet, Teams, multimedia tools, AI tools, and other institutional systems.

Student Technology Programs & Support

  • Coordinate and execute student technology onboarding and training programs for students 6-12, including laptop deployment, digital learning readiness, and platform orientation.
  • Support school-wide digital assessment readiness and implementation.
  • Teach a series of technology rotations to ensure that new students are well prepared for academic success.
  • Support student device initiatives, including the NDP 1:1 Program, laptop policies, student technology expectations, and family communications related to technology programs.

Strategic Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Partner with school leadership, academic departments, operational teams, and the Technology Department to support institutional technology initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Provide guidance and support to parents and families regarding digital learning, instructional technology platforms, AI, cybersecurity, and student technology expectations.
  • Represent the school through professional organizations, conferences, workshops, collaborative networks, and institutional partnerships to remain current on emerging trends and best practices in instructional technology and innovation.
  • Participate in admissions and community events, including Open House, parent education sessions, and student/family technology workshops.
