The Instructional Technology Specialist will provide exceptional service and technical support for Learning Spaces at the ASU West campus.  This involves working closely with faculty and students to ensure that their teaching and learning experience exceeds expectations.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting with desktop, classroom, and computing site operations.

  • Setting up, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and multimedia equipment.

  • Maintaining classroom and computing site environments.

  • Developing and fostering client relationships with faculty to maximize their classroom experience.

  • Training users on hardware and software tools.

  • Providing technical assistance for video conferencing;

  • Performing computer, multimedia controller, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.

  • Maintaining records, supplies, and inventory; and leading, mentoring and training.

  • Evaluating the performance of student employees based on established procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in technology or related field AND two years of experience providing information technology services; OR Four years of experience providing information technology services; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.  Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience providing service to a diverse customer base, preferably in an educational setting;

  • Experience providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and training for classroom technologies;

  • In-depth knowledge of Apple and Windows Operating Systems;

  • Experience working in a lead position, including management of others;

  • Experience working with internal groups and outside vendors to collaborate on projects, problem solve, or design solutions to technical issues;

  • Experience managing cases in reporting systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow;

  • Demonstrated evidence of effective communication with both technical and non-technical users.

 

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking; frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to and over 100 pounds. Regular review of completed tasks.
