Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is a full French language immersion co-educational independent school, serving over 750 students from preschool through to Grade 12. Job Description:

CFIS is looking for a passionate, creative and dynamic educator to lead the integration of technology from Grade 1-6. This energetic and innovative leader will be charged with coaching and mentoring faculty to leverage learning through the active and authentic use of technology.

The successful candidate will perform, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Lead a dynamic technology plan for the elementary division;

  • Provide direct support to the classroom teacher coaching or modeling for the utilization of technology tools to support instruction in the classroom;

  • Consult and collaborate directly with teachers to determine what, when, and where to integrate appropriate technology tools in the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning;

  • Demonstrate a foundation in teaching methodologies and pedagogy;

  • Model technology usage for staff and share a vision of integrating technological components;

  • Coordinate the selection and acquisition of software;

  • Keep current with updates in educational technology;

  • Design and implement high-quality professional development around teaching and learning with technology;

  • Work with teachers to plan, guide and assist in the integration of technology; 

  • Assist and support students and teachers with tasks, projects and assignments in the classroom;

  • Research, initiate and support global learning projects; and

  • Work closely with the I.T. department to initiate and employ new technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Preference will be given to educators who:

  • Have a Masters of Educational Technology (preferred but not required);

  • Have demonstrated experience in working with students;

  • Have a sound knowledge of technologies including basic productivity tools, multimedia applications, digital photography and video editing;

  • Are experienced with 21st century learning pedagogy including personalized learning, differentiated instruction and inquiry based learning;

  • Have demonstrated successful technology integration in his/her own teaching career;

  • Have experience in independent schools; and

  • Are fluent in French and English.

Salary:

As per the CFIS teaching salary grid.
