Position summary: 
Maret is currently seeking a personable and skilled Database Administrator to cover our current DBA who will be going on temporary leave. The Interim Database Administrator will be an integral member of the Development Office and Technology Department. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the position will support the management and integration of the school's fundraising database and student information system. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Development Office on database queries, letter production, and other projects as assigned 

  • Design, generate, and maintain development reports for internal and external use. 

  • Work with the Development Office as needed to provide support on wealth screening, prospect research, and tracking operations. 

  • Oversee data integrity checks to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and captured in a consistent manner 

  • Manage, maintain, and update our student information system, including adding and updating faculty/staff, student, and parent records on an ongoing basis. 

  • Maintain and document procedures, workflows, processes, and complex functions. 

  • Work closely with the Director of Development and the Director of Technology and Information Services on special projects. 

  • Work with the Communications Office on database related functions and interface with our website as applicable 

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

  • Experience working in a school environment or non-profit organization

  • Experience creating queries, generating reports, and other exports from databases o Experience maintaining or managing databases, preferably Veracross 

  • Strong proficiency with Excel 

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies rapidly and an enthusiasm for doing so 

  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex work carefully and accurately 

  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills o A friendly, open demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for support and training 

  • An ability to synthesize complex material and translate that information 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines 

  • Professional, ethical standards for handling confidential information
