La Jolla Country Day School is seeking a creative and ambitious digital video producer/writer who will support the school’s vision of inspiring greatness for a better world. The ideal candidate will develop compelling video and news content to help tell the school’s story. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an interest in tone, brand style and institutional messaging and consistency in support of the school’s mission. The digital video producer/writer will manage video and writing projects from concept to delivery, including participation in creative development, collaboration with colleagues across departments, and management of deadlines and approval process.

Responsibilities

Support the team in creating and regularly updating content for the school’s website and social media outlets

Produce short form video pieces

Writing and editing articles for the website, blog, newsletter and other communication pieces

Provide photography support during school events, fulfill photo requests and maintain department photo library

Assist with posting, maintaining and monitoring the school’s social media outlets including Facebook and Instagram

Assist with other communications projects, as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field along with demonstrable video production skill

1-3 years of experience

Highly competent in Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and Illustrator

Video production, writing and photography skills

Creative problem-solver, keen eye for detail, collaborative team player

Passion for editorially-driven, nonfiction filmmaking

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide-range of constituencies within the school’s internal and external communities

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Knowledge of AP and Chicago Style a plus

Experience in web editing via content management system (Whipple Hill or WordPress) a plus

Occasional nights or weekends may be required
