Role and Responsibilities

  • 9th grade CTE class (Introduction to Informational Technology) provide an introduction to information technology concepts and careers as well as the impact information technology has on the world, people, and industry and basic web design concepts. The content includes information technology career research; operating systems and software applications; electronic communications including e-mail and Internet services; basic HTML, DHTML, and XML web commands and design; emerging technologies, and Web page design.
  • Provide inservice training to school staff in the area of Instructional technology to support their curriculum
  • Provide expertise in ordering computer equipment, to facilitate in the setting up of computer labs, and to be a troubleshooter for networking
  • Assist in the design of computer systems to be installed in new facilities.
  • Attend school technology contacts meetings
  • Evaluated new site licenses and renew existing site licenses
  • Preview instructional technology software and make recommendations to teachers, administrators and governing board
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and installation of electronic networks
  • Assist school in running their school-wide networks
  • To troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to instructional technology equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, telephones, CD-ROM drives, security equipment, etc.
  • Assist school in installing computer software.
  • Assist school in set up of new school facilities.
  • Assist in technology inservice
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
  • Certification-Computer Science Elementary & Secondary (K-12)
  • Prefer Cisco Certification-CCNA or CCDA
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience troubleshooting technology equipment, local area networks & computer systems
  • Experience related to design & support of educational computing or telecommunications systems.

Ability to design and facilitate professional development in the area of technology for adults.
