Branksome Hall is seeking a co-op student to assist the IT department beginning in January to end of April 2017. Working under the direction of Help Desk Supervisor, this position is responsible for courteous, rapid and effective hardware and software support to technology users in the school.

 

The hours for this position are 8:00am to 4:00 pm daily. The candidate will function as an active member of the school's IT team.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and productive individual with a relevant academic background, and someone who possess strong communications and interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Some of the typical tasks may include:

  • Member of our Help Desk team providing support across the campus for

both software and hardware. This involves both telephone and onsite

support.

  • Assist with the inventory, maintenance and warranty of computer

peripherals and drivers associated with them. (scanners, digital

cameras, camcorders, LCD projectors, etc.)

  • Repair simple hardware faults (locked computers, printer jams, wireless

issues).

  • Move computers, peripherals and audio/video equipment as required
  • Provide back-up support to other members of the IT Department
  • Assist with set up and manage audio/video and multimedia equipment for school events
  • Assist with setup and configure network devices (access points, switches, routers)
  • Imaging of Computers and Updating of Software

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Diploma or experience specializing in technology
  • Experience with Windows 7, 8 and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Proven team player
  • Proven customer service skills
  • A+ Certification an asset

 

The successful candidate will be paid at a rate of $16.00 per hour.
