Job Description

Notre Dame International (NDI) is the campus home for the University’s study abroad and global engagement programs, a network of eleven locations spanning nine countries, and international student and scholar support on campus. With a direct reporting line to the Office of Information Technologies, the IT Director will be embedded with NDI, and have the opportunity to work with outstanding colleagues in leading the delivery of exemplary information technology services for NDI. Essential to this position will be the ability to collaborate with NDI colleagues at Gateways, Centers, and on campus, as well as manage IT staff and contractors at locations around the world.

Essential Duties

  • Customer relationship management

  • Thought leadership and strategy to implement IT service innovations

  • Service delivery: projects and support

  • Team success and personnel management

Position responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive oversight and management for the IT needs of NDI

  • Serves as primary OIT contact for NDI; fosters strong working relationships with NDI and OIT colleagues

  • Represents NDI on OIT and University-wide committees

  • Consults with NDI on the overall implementation of technology in a way that furthers the overall goals and objectives of the division. Develops risk assessments and benefit analysis as needed.

  • Mentors direct reports and fosters individual growth and professional development

  • Manages the implementation of IT standards and best practices within the team

  • Collaborates and supports OIT colleagues in the implementation of strategic IT initiatives

  • Manages IT projects for NDI as needed.

While the IT Director position will be based from the Notre Dame main campus, the ability to travel internationally is required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management or related field

  • 5 years of relevant management experience 

  • 10+ years experience in the IT industry, including extensive experience with technical solution delivery

  • Understanding and use of people management, project management, and customer relationship management principles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree 

  • Management experience in a higher education environment

  • Experience managing internationally-based teams
