The founding values of Truth, Honour, Freedom, and Courtesy are embedded as the cornerstones that inform all our activities in a very modern teaching and learning environment, underpinned by an extensive and modern information technology capability.

The school prides itself on staying at the forefront of innovation and technology – and in ensuring that ICT is integrated across and into the curriculum to make it an immersive and key aspect of the overall teaching and learning experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, highly skilled, hands-on, IT manager to come on board in April 2016. You will lead a small team of IT support staff and manage multiple SLA based service vendors. You will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the schools’ computer systems and networks, comprising state of the art technology infrastructure supporting both WINDOWS and APPLE devices and software solutions. Your proven skill-set will enable you to further evolve the schools IT strategy and capability in line with current and emerging trends in the digital realm and education framework it encompasses.

Your responsibilities will include the management of the schools’ information communication technology (ICT). You will plan, organise and control all ICT and coordinate systems, policies and procedures. Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems. Act in alignment with the needs of students and the teaching staff. Manage staff by recruiting, training, coaching and appraising performance. Audit systems and asset management. Manage the annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness. Set up and manage SLA’s with vendors and service providers. Work closely with board members and strategic and operational working groups.

The successful incumbent will have 5 years experience in an IT related position with proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience (experience in a school environment will be advantageous, although not essential).
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware, software systems and networks – the school has an extensive optical fiber network and a recently deployed ARUBA Wi-Fi network.
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation is essential as is the ability to manage staff.
A computer science or information systems degree or diploma and/or related IT qualification or industry certifications.
Proof of clearance against the Sexual Offender’s and Child Protection Registry – this is required for any staff member working in a school environment.
If you think you are the person for this exciting opportunity then send a detailed CV, a letter of application, and the names and contact details of two referees via email.

CLOSING DATE: 19th February 2016.

The school reserves the right not to make an appointment. Please consider your application unsuccessful if we do not contact you by 11 March 2016.
