This full-time position is available at St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, a progressive and forward-thinking private girls’ school.

We seek a person to lead our IT department who will report to the Business Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for a sophisticated IT infrastructure with over 1200 users. This will include managing: staff and technicians; installations; maintenance; availability of services; security of our network; hardware and software. This is to ensure an effective IT service that supports the teaching and learning, management and administrative needs of the school.

Candidate profile:

  • relevant university degree or qualification,
  • proven knowledge and experience of working with IT systems, their implementation, management and ongoing performance monitoring,
  • experience in the configuration and management of switches,
  • expertise in IOS, Google Apps for Education and Windows environments,
  • commitment to staying abreast of new trends and developments in technologies,
  • experience in cost effective IT procurement and managing budgets,
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • a focus on quality service delivery,
  • the ability to work independently and under pressure,
  • aptitude for problem solving,
  • proven experience in managing staff and working as part of a team,
  • support of the school’s Christian ethos and values as described on the school’s website.
