The Hun School of Princeton seeks an experienced data system professional to fill the role of IT Project Coordinator.

Reporting to the Director of Technology the IT Project Coordinator contract-to-hire position will be a full-time, benefits eligible, responsible for the coordination and liaison between the School’s current all-inclusive data system Blackbaud’s OnCampus suite and the migration of that data to our new host systems VeraCross and Finalsite, impacting almost every aspect of school operations.

The IT Project Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  •  Manage and administer every aspect of the roll-out and implementation of the new  data host systems, consisting of two new interrelated systems;
  • Work directly with the project managers assigned by our new vendors to plan out and execute a seamless conversion and implementation of the new systems;
  • Coordinate data conversion, user training, technical support and troubleshooting and complete integration with new and existing software programs and technology infrastructure;
  • Develop and execute project communication plans with various (new and existing) software vendors to interface and integrate the complete system;
  • Establish policies and procedures for the management of data;
  • Cultivate protocols to ensure data integrity and efficient data flow between systems, departments, and vendors;
  • Create and execute data import and export transfer protocols to ensure every integrated system’s data remains current and up to date;
  • Ensure automatic data transfers including but not limited to transferring personally identifiable user data between systems occur without error or delay;
  • Create queries and reports to verify data integrity;
  • Ensure data security by reviewing and recommending data protection policies and procedures, user access controls, and disaster recovery plans;
  • Develop tutorials, identify online resources and design and deliver training workshops for all end-users;
  • Provide technical support of campus-wide software systems, both new and existing to School community members including but not limited to staff, students, parents, and alumni.

 The ideal candidate will be an experienced technology professional who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred;
  • Strong organizational, presentation, communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Comprehensive understanding of database theory, and experience with database systems;
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing requirements as needed;
  • Experience in managing a large-scale software roll-out project, from start to finish;
  • Capacity to work outside “normal” office hours, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings to perform any needed upgrades or enhancements;
  • Keen problem solving and decision-making abilities;
  • Research and strategic planning experience;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively based on the task;
  • Experience with Blackbaud, Veracross and Finalsite systems a plus;
  • Experience with Google Apps for Education;  
  • Experience in an independent school environment a plus;
  • Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
  • Must pass State of New Jersey Criminal Background check.

This contract-to-hire position full-time, twelve (12) months per year, exempt from overtime, and eligible for all benefits afforded to full-time Hun School employees.  At the end of the implementation phase, anticipated to take approximately two years, the position will be re-evaluated and may be converted to a permanent position.  The working environment is a school and office environment on a hilly 45-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey.  The abilities to occasionally lift files and storage boxes, walk up and down stairs, attend meetings in varying locations throughout campus, and continually use computers and related office equipment are required.  Not all buildings on campus have elevators.
