As a member of the Project Management Office this position will work closely with the custom web development, Salesforce development and administration and enterprise applications teams within the SC Johnson College of Business’ IT department.  The position is expected to establish deep relationships with college project sponsors, college IT resources and University systems owners.  As a result, the ideal candidate would have experience in building and maintaining these types of relationships.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads medium to highly complex projects with an IT component.
  • Works with business leadership to define project and system scope (i.e. business objectives, requirements, timing, costs, risks, resource estimates, and budget) and set priorities.
  • Manages all phases of the project, including initiation, planning, implementation, communication, tracking, change requests, issues, reports, and transition/hand-off.
  • Works with leadership and/or team leads to gain approvals on scope, work, expectations, and change requests.
  • Facilitates the discovery of requirements through research, fact finding, and user needs analysis, and translate them in to functional and system requirement specifications.
  • Gathers, analyzes, maps, defines and documents business and system requirements.
  • Collaborates with users, vendors, and technical co-workers to explore effective solutions to meet the business objectives.
  • Works closely with project stakeholders to gather user stories and guide the functionality of the proposed solution.
  • Understands the needs of data integration at the College and University levels.
  • Examines, assesses, and documents business operations and procedures.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and administration responsibilities of supported project management tools.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT related operations.
  • Proven track record of successful project management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers and peers. 
  • Be self-directed and motivated.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMI, ScrumMaster or Agile project management certification.
  • Knowledge of Workfront project management software.
