Overview of Position

The Mabin School seeks a Database/Website & IT Specialist for a one-year contract position with possible renewal.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the the school’s Student Information System, cloud-based database and website, providing staff training for the database, as well as supporting the daily IT needs for students and staff.  The candidate will report directly to the Director of Operations and Finance and play a key role in the daily IT functions as well as in the long-term development of an IT strategy which will advance the school.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee and identify best practices with school’s database and website
Manage Mac OS X servers, routers, switches, etc.
Oversee student/staff MacBooks and iPads
Manage school database through Citrix/Blackbaud
Manage Google Apps/Classroom
Manage and maintain school’s daily IT requirements i.e. computer and SmartBoard maintenance
Act as school photographer and videographer
Manage archiving of photos and videos
Social media coordinator
Classroom technology integration
Student reporting

Required Skills and Expertise

Understanding of the role of technology within an elementary school setting
Project management experience
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills to act as a liaison between Blackbaud and Mabin faculty
Knowledge of website development
Knowledge of Blackbaud for Small Schools would be an asset
Ability to manage vendor relationships for the implementation of technical projects
Ability to train staff on the usage of database as it pertains to individual jobs and routines
Expert in Apple environment and SMART boards
